Illumination based on: Mongolian Throne Scene, Jami‛ al-Tawarikh by Rashid al-Din. Iran, c. 1300-1325. Berlin State Library, Prussian Cultural Heritage, Germany. MS Diez A Fol. 70, p. 23, no. 1. (https://digital.staatsbibliothek-berlin.de/werkansicht...) "A Lady of fierce beauty, flower of the North, O rose red with full bloom. When she came before Us with war banners of victory raised our joy welled up in robust applause. Strong is the Mongol blood of her veins that has proven her prowess in battle for the glory of Our Kingdom. Generous of heart is she that provides largess to those from foreign lands and brings us honour in return. On this day, strawberry leaves of three shall grace her personage. On this 24th day of September at the event of Our Coronation in the Incipient Shire of Champcorbeau, Our court assembled from near and afar. In this hall, the striking Lady of the Rose, Hyrrokin arrived and there met her a goodly company of noble folk who’s cheers at her appearance resounded through Our Kingdom. Her litter was accompanied by a noble retinue of those subjects of the highest virtue and loyalty. The adoration of populace for her is as undying and lively as a flame eternal. Hyrrokin was brought before Kaylah, Twice Queen by Right of Arms, and Trumbrand, King of Grace and Twice the Patience. When she came before us as a Rose our joy was absolute. In all aspects, Our Lady’s character is to be admired and emulated. Her renown has grow in proportion to her skills in the arts of costumery and paper making. Her capacity to embrace joy through the peaks and troughs of life inspires our poets and writers of song into the art of verse. We are now minded to elevate her to the high station of a Duchess in the great Kingdom of Ealdormere for her service and honour to the realm. May the Duchess Hyrrokin reside in comfort with many fine ladies and well-heeled gentlemen at her waiting. May she prosper and her holdings increase as she continues to inspire our nobles to embrace artistic pursuits of all kinds. May her foes be perpetually terrified by the force of her will and the resilience of her spirit. Finally, may the harmony of the kingdom established under her tenure on the throne softly lengthen and spread like the shadows that are shaped by the setting of the sun. By Our will."

Scroll based on T'oros Roslin Gospels, Dedicatory inscription, Walters Manuscript W.539, fol. 12r. Armenia, c. 1262. (https://www.flickr.com/photos/medmss/8467588245/) Wording based on Patent Edmond Mille’s of Arms, 1450. To all present and to who these letters shall see or hear, Amelius Claudius Rattanicus, King of Ealdormere, and Isabel Atwyll, Our Queen, send greetings and love with humble recommendation. Equity, will, and reason ordains that women, virtuous and of noble service, be for their merits by renown recognized, and not only their persons in this mortal life, so brief and transitory, but after them, and in all places of great honour forever, so that by their example more shall be persuaded to use their days in feats of service and other virtuous works to acquire the renown of ancient gentility in their line and posterity. Wherefore We, who not only by common renown but also by the report and consultation of others’ counsel, nobles worthy of faith, are well & truly pleased and informed that Lucia de Enzinas, Companion of the Laurel’s Order and Baroness in her own right has for long pursued feats of duty as well in this as in other matters has carried herself valiantly, and honourably governed himself so that she has well deserved & is worthy that henceforth forever she be in all places honourably admitted, received, acknowledged, counted and renowned among the number and of the company of another ancient order of nobles. And for the remembrance of this, her gentility, We have devised ordained and assigned to the said Lucia de Enzinas, to ever be a Companion of the Pelican’s Order. To have, hold and use and possess for her forever. In testimony whereof We have signed with Our hand and sealed with Our seal these presents. Made and given on this twenty-seventh day of November, being the fifty-sixth year of our society, in celebration of Her Majesties’ Prize Tournament, and the 581st day of Our reign, as hosted by the Shire of Bastille du Lac. To the most Learned and Gracious Sciath, by the will of the Lupine Crown Baroness of Rising Waters and Defender of the Niagara, her humble and devout kinsmen and kinswomen Eithne, Seneschal and Marshal of the Arte of Thrown Weaponry; Aidan, Exchequer and Captain of Archers; Muirghein, Chatelaine; Rose, Chronicler; Seamus, Pursuivant; Amelye, Minister of the Arts and Sciences; Berenger, Captain of Foot; Jessica, Marshal of the Arte of Defense; and Neala, Deputy of Alle Things; and the other lords, ladies, and freeholders and the whole community of the realm of Trinovantia Nova send all manner of filial reverence, with devotion and noble wishing. Most Noble Baroness, we know from the chronicles and books of the ancients that we find amongst other goodly lands our own, Trinovantia Nova, has been graced with renown and the goodwill of many peoples. It journeyed from the heart of Ealdormere by way of Septentria and it dwelt for a long course of time in Ramshaven, but never could it be diminished by any people. Thence it came, thirty-five years after the first King of the West, to its home in the Forest of Trinovantia, where it still remains to this day. Of the high qualities and merits of these people, were they not otherwise manifest, shine forth clearly enough from this: that the most diligent and noble line of those who sit upon the High Seats over the demesne of the Chalice called them, even though settled in the uttermost parts of the Kingdom, almost the first amongst their friends and kin. Most Learned Baroness, you and your predecessors gave careful heed to these things and strengthened this same shire and people with many favours and numerous privileges; and to that, we beseech your Excellency with our most earnest wishes and supplicant hearts, inasmuch as you will in your sincerity and goodness, accept our gratitude and in so doing let us name you, and your people, as Friends of Trinovantia Nova. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor favours that we do this, but for honour alone, which no honest shireling gives up but with life itself. May the Most High preserve you in happiness and health for many days to come; and inspire us all with courage and bring our endevours to fruition. Given at our 20th Celebration of our Shire, in Trinovantia Nova on the ninth day of the month of May in the year of the society fifty-five and the second month of the reign our King Rattanicus and our Queen Isabel.
